FULL JOB TITLE: Delivery Driver/Warehouse Worker-Billings, MT

JOB SUMMARY:

Handles and delivers bulk and packaged fertilizer and chemicals, performs daily vehicle inspections, handles and delivers packaged chemicals, cleans and maintains equipment, assists mechanic, may maintain maintenance records. Warehouse duties include coordinating shipping, receiving, verifying and order processing. Shipping and receiving duties involve removing products or inventory from large trucks when they arrive, moving the product bags onto other trucks when the inventory is ready to be distributed or utilized. In between shipping and receiving, warehousemen shelve and organize inventory and maintain the warehouse. Warehouse personnel must be able to lift heavy loads, follow specific instructions and adhere to safety guidelines; other duties as assigned as seen fit.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Load or assist in loading trailer with materials.
  2. Unload or assist in unloading trailer by using forklift or hand truck.
  3. Operate semi-truck with one or two trailers, according to state laws. Transport loads over required route to proper destinations, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  4. Must be able to conduct a standard DOT truck inspection.
  5. Capable of filling out all company and DOT required paperwork.
  6. Must be able to fill out shipping bills of lading and necessary signatures and return completed paper work to shipping office; maintain any related records required.
  7. Capable of lifting and moving up to 80 pounds.
  8. Perform and maintain miscellaneous service duties on a daily basis: oil, water, gasoline, air in tires. Report any maintenance malfunctions to maintenance dept.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have a valid CDL (hazmat endorsement a plus).
  • Driving Record must be clean
  • Must use tact and diplomacy in dealing with customer personnel at delivery points.
  • Able to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Obtain the following qualities: dependability, reliable, and competent to handle equipment safely.
  • May at times, sit in a cab for periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb ladders to be able to look into tender boxes/tanks.
  • Must meet Department of Transportation physical and medical requirements
  • Pass substance abuse screening; as a safety sensitive employee subject to random and other required substance abuse screening as per company policy.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or demonstrated experience in vocational agricultural or a combination of education and work experience
  • Valid driver’s license & Current CDL required
  • DOT-minimum age requirement is 21 years
  • Must be able to work 40+ hour weeks including weekends in busy seasons
