Located at our Tifton, GA Distribution Terminal, and reporting to the US Terminals Superintendent, the Terminal Supervisor is responsible and accountable for staff performance and development, dry product unloading, loading transfer and storage and safety and security of the terminal. Overall responsibility includes the safety, training and management of employees, as well as the safe, efficient operation of the terminal and management of costs. The Terminal supervisor is responsible for management of all aspects of the business at their location, and to provide support to the other locations across the terminal network. In addition the supervisor is responsible for overall site administration including people, budgets, and materials and planning.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe and reliable operation of the facility.
  • Manage and steward costs to the approved budget.
  • Identify, estimate and manage improvement and sustainability projects at the terminal.
  • Ensure terminal equipment is maintained in a safe, reliable, operable condition.
  • Administration and Inventory accountability.
  • Stewardship to internal and external regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Scheduling of employee tasks and hours of work.
  • Routine plant maintenance and scheduling.
  • After hours service, security and emergency preparedness.
  • Quality control.
  • Staff development, training and supervision.
  • Arrange required training for employees.
  • Contractor Supervision on all site maintenance and projects.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma, with at least 10 years of supervisory experience OR a bachelor’s degree with 5 years supervisory experience.
  • Strong, Ability to lead, engage and motivate people.
  • Ability to persuade, negotiate, mediate and overcome differences.
  • Ability to mentor, teach, coach and counsel constructively to assist others to understand and accept the importance of a safe workplace environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and engage others.
  • Knowledge of dry fertilizer operations.
  • Knowledge of maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with railroad operations and procedures.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to excel in a team environment.
  • Ability to plan, organize, implement and control a standard set of goals, plans, processes and procedures.
  • Ability to organize and maintain consistent sustainable documentation.
  • Excellent computer skills with a good knowledge of the Microsoft office suite of programs (Word, Excell, MS Outlook, Power Point, etc…)
  • Ability to research, analyze and interpret plans and processes and make decisions.
  • Ability to be flexible, adapt easily to change and have the ability to take the initiative when situations warrant immediate resolution.
  • As a team player you will be expected to work with senior management, your peers and staff, as well as contractors, visitors and customers.
  • Ability to trouble shoot and maintain the terminal equipment.
