As part of the Maintenance department, the Rotating Equipment Mechanic will report to the Rotating Equipment Supervisor and will be expected to execute work Safely and follow policies and procedures while troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing plant rotating equipment. Respond to plant repair and troubleshooting needs during normal work and off shift hours to support plant operation. Work will be done in a professional manner.

Key Tasks:

  • Execute high quality work with a focus on personal safety process safety and continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, maintain and repair rotating equipment.
  • Use computers to initiate repairs, initiate change, document repairs and record plant equipment history.
  • Be responsive to plant repair and troubleshooting needs during normal work and off shift hours to support plant operation.
  • Team player that treats coworkers with dignity and respect, openly shares information and is engaged in continuous improvement.

Skills:

  • Two years’ education at a vocational/technical school in the millwright field, or 5+ years’ experience.
  • Troubleshooting and analytical ability.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft products, SAP is a plus.
  • Be able to perform in a high performance culture, and to excel in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Good Mechanical skills.
  • Experience rebuilding pumps, conveyer systems, rotating drums, gear boxes.
  • Experience operating man lifts, fork lifts and cranes.
  • Basic working knowledge of all types of rotating equipment such as pumps, gear boxes, conveyer systems, compressors, rotating drums.
  • Ability to use precise measuring tools, aligning tools.
  • Installations and alignment of mechanical equipment.
  • Experience in process plant/industrial operations a plus.
  • Be willing to enhance personal skills through training both onsite and offsite.
  • Be able to perform in a high performance culture, and to excel in a team environment.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have above average troubleshooting skill on rotating process equipment and computer skills.
  • Have a proficient understanding of, rigging and power tool usage.
  • Ability to excel in a cross functional team environment.
  • Ability to treat others with dignity respect and be a team player at all times.
  • Equipment operation Man lift, fork lift, and crane operation.
  • Machinist skills a plus.
