Reporting to the Maintenance Specialist, the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will be responsible for ensuring effective maintenance is planned, performed, and documented as well as ensuring the plant supports Agrium’s corporate reliability goals. This position is an integral part of the maintenance and production functions at the Americus, GA plant.

Key Tasks:

  • Assist in developing, planning and scheduling corrective, preventive, predictive and proactive maintenance activities.
  • Create maintenance schedules ensuring efficient craft utilization.
  • Monitor progress of scheduled work to determine status.
  • Review all completed work orders and ensure items requiring follow up are acted upon appropriately and assist in tracking these actions required to completion.
  • Maintain accuracy of equipment information by updating files.
  • Owner of key performance indicators (KPI’s) for maintenance and reliability.
  • Generate purchase requisitions in SAP for parts, services, tools, and equipment.
  • Identify material requirements for planned maintenance activities and assist in preparing materials for work to be completed.
  • Assemble parts kits and organization for projects, including shutdown/turnaround.
  • Controls and optimizes maintenance spare parts ordering, stocking, issuing and inventorying.
  • Analyze and track data, provide reports and trending as required to drive a data driven approach to continuous improvement.
  • Improve maintenance process, practices and procedures to achieve maximum efficiency, and operational excellence .
  • Supports root cause problem solving and analysis of maintenance costs, activities, and trends.
  • Updates job knowledge by identifying and participating in educational opportunities.
  • Play a critical role not only ensuring your own safety, but also the safety of others. You will have direct accountability for ensuring familiarity and demonstrating the Commitment to Zero policy, leading with a safety mindset and modeling the 3 Safety Principles, modelling the 10 Tenets of Operation and having your own personal safety action plan.

Outside of the skills and necessary qualifications, our ideal candidate must be committed to achieving superior results with integrity and sustaining our safe and positive work environment while having the ability to embrace working side by side others in a diverse culture.

Skills:

  • Ability to handle a large and varied work load.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) - SAP preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, and problem solving skills.
