The Labor Pool Operator roles are entry level operations roles at the Conda Phosphate Operations facility. The roles are primarily responsible for safely assisting field operators in the operations and maintenance of the process equipment, while learning the process, completing mandatory safety and process training, and developing the necessary skills to advance within the operations department. These roles are critical for developing and sustaining the requisite Operator talent pool for the site.

Key Tasks:

  • Responsible to assist field operators in the safe operation and maintenance of the process equipment, including sampling, cleaning, water blasting, jack hammering, and minor maintenance.
  • Assist with the startup, shut down, and operation of processes and equipment from a field role.
  • Identify possible or current operating problems and recommend action to resolve any deficiencies in rate, quality or mechanical operation. Respond to and appropriately addresses process upsets.
  • Identify actual or potential maintenance issues and take appropriate action to see that they are addressed.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment and conducting housekeeping throughout the facility.

  • Ability to read, understand and apply policies, standards and operating procedures.
  • Ability to use computers for job functions and training, Microsoft Office experience preferred.
  • Possess mechanical/process troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Must be committed to working in a highly safety-conscious environment.


  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Prior experience in an industrial setting is desirable.
