Job Position Summary:

As a member of the Agrium Retail Environment, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) team, the Intern, Safety will have the opportunity to assist with Safety projects for the largest Agriculture Retailer in the world. The intern will gain knowledge and experience for future endeavors in the Safety field. A 4-6 week work obligation would be required with a possibility of additional work time. This position will report to the Manager, U.S. Safety and Regulatory Affairs. The job expectations are to help, educate, train, and comply with all aspects of running the business. This summary of job responsibilities and duties is meant togenerallydescribe the position and is not all-inclusive.

Key Tasks:

  • Assist with data input and management to include reformatting work documents; manipulating Excel spreadsheets and compiling safety data;
  • Compliance and regulatory data collection and analytics;
  • Assist in the development of plans, policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure safety programs are aligned with company and site goals;
  • Support Agrium Retail’s EHS&S Department and staff as needed;
  • Specific EHS&S task projects;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Support Agrium Retail’s EHS&S Department and staff requirements as needed.

The Ideal Candidate

Outside of the skills and necessary qualifications, our ideal candidate must be committed to achieving superior results with integrity and sustaining our safe and positive work environment while having the ability to embrace working side by side others in a diverse culture.

Skills:

  • Familiarity with EHS&S regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, DHS, etc.) and consensus standards (ANSI, ASTM, etc.);
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills;
  • High proficiency with Adobe PDF, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access);
  • Well-developed problem solving, organizational and analytical skills;
  • Must be efficient, able to multi-task and be detail oriented;
  • Effective writing skills;
  • Must be able to work as an effective and contributing member of a team or independently as the need arises.

Qualifications:

  • A Junior or Senior working towards a Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited college or university in an EHS&S related field
