This position will report directly to the Tech. Services Supervisor and will lead and manage equipment inspections, equipment documentation, and will work with maintenance and operations personnel to provide guidance for equipment repair to current Agrium and industry standards.

This position is to ensure by inspections that new and existing equipment and piping systems are fit for the expected service and can be maintained in service at a safe level compatible with the operating conditions, utilizing current construction and repair codes.

Key Tasks:

  • Perform internal and external process equipment inspections
  • Perform offsite equipment QC and testing verifications with contractors
  • Write inspection reports and update/maintain inspection database
  • Support maintenance by developing repair procedures
  • Assist in developing asset care plans (equipment inspection and PM plans)

TheIdeal Candidate

Outside of the skills and necessary qualifications, our ideal candidate must be committed to achieving superior results with integrity and sustaining our safe and positive work environment while having the ability to embrace working side by side others in a diverse culture.


  • Strong written and oral communications, troubleshooting skills, and computer skills
  • Technical writing skills
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering standards and drawings
  • Ability to manage an adverse workload , contract personnel, and priorities simultaneously
  • Expectations of this position will be to continue to advance to a senior level inspector through continuing education and gaining additional certifications


  • A High School Diploma is required - Some College is preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of documented inspection experience
  • API 510 or API 653 certification is required
  • Strong working knowledge of the National Codes and Standards (ASME, API, AWS, etc.)
  • Have experience with non-destructive examination techniques (UT, PT, MT, and RT) with some construction background preferred
  • The ideal candidate will at minimum have a Level 1 UT, PT, MT, VT, or RT. Not all are required
  • Knowledge of welding processes or previous welding experience is desirable
  • API 570 or CWI Certification is preferred
  • Level of compensation is dependent upon experience
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • This position requires working at elevated heights, confined spaces, and the need for respirator w/ supplied air while donning acid PPE
  • Must be willing to work in adverse weather conditions
  • 10% travel required
