As part of the Maintenance department, the Electrical and Instrumentation Technician will report to the E&I Supervisor and will be expected to execute work Safely and follow policies and procedures while troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing instrumentation and electrical systems with voltages up to 13800 volts. Respond to plant repair and troubleshooting needs during normal work and off shift hours to support plant operation. Work will be done in a professional manner.

Key Tasks:

  • Execute high quality work with a focus on personal safety process safety and continuous improvement
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, maintain and repair instrumentation and electrical systems with voltages up to 13800 volts.
  • Use computers to communicate with and program PLCs and instrumentation. initiate repairs, initiate change, document repairs and record plant equipment history
  • Be responsive to plant repair and troubleshooting needs during normal work and off shift hours to support plant operation
  • Team player that treats coworkers with dignity and respect, openly shares information and is engaged in continuous improvement.

TheIdeal Candidate

Outside of the skills and necessary qualifications, our ideal candidate must be committed to achieving superior results with integrity and sustaining our safe and positive work environment while having the ability to embrace working side by side others in a diverse culture.


  • Experience in process plant/industrial operations a plus.
  • Basic working knowledge of all types of instrument and electrical test equipment.
  • Be willing to enhance personal skills through training both onsite and offsite.
  • Be able to perform in a high performance culture, and to excel in a team environment
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have above average troubleshooting and computer skills.
  • Have a proficient understanding of rigging and power tool usage.
  • Ability to excel in a cross functional team environment
  • Ability to treat others with dignity respect and be a team player at all times.
  • Man life and fork lift operation


  • Two years education at a vocational/technical school in the electrical or instrumentation field, or 5+ years’ experience.
  • Idaho State Electrical journeyman’s license preferred
  • Understanding of Electrical safe work Practices
  • Troubleshooting and analytical ability
  • Computer skills in Microsoft products, SAP, IVARA, and Delta V is a plus
  • Experience with DCS systems, Delta V preferred.
  • Be able to perform in a high performance culture, and to excel in a team environment.
  • Have experience with three phase motors, motor controls and Electrical distribution systems.
  • Be familiar with Foundation Field bus and HART protocol instruments.
  • Working knowledge of electronic and pneumatic controllers and valve positioners.
  • Experience working with PLC’s
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Good Mechanical skills
