Product Line Manager

High River, AB

Reporting to the Director - The Product Line Manager is responsible for the overall profitability of the product line, this includes product planning and execution throughout the annual product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product requirements through the forecast cycle, working with product allocations, defining programs and promotions to support the product vision, while working closely with Division and Branch to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Key Tasks:

  • Responsibility for the execution of the Crop Protection product pricing and positioning strategy in Canada.
  • Execute marketing plan with the key suppliers:
    • Promotion activities, supply management, joint programs
  • Identify cross market opportunities in the marketplace
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition
  • Understand programming that drives sales to the channel, both retail and grower
  • Work closely with Division Management to create programs and promotions to drive sales
  • Responsible for providing the Division teams with the necessary tools and analysis to enable them to execute the sales plan.
  • Manage allocation of products to all Divisions in Canada
  • Work with Distribution on product movement and positioning

The Ideal Candidate

Outside of the skills and necessary qualifications, our ideal candidate must be committed to achieving superior results with integrity and sustaining our safe and positive work environment while having the ability to embrace working side by side others in a diverse culture.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Agricultural Crops, practices and terminology
  • Highly motivated, organized, self-starter with good communication skills
  • Strong time management skills - have the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Access and Outlook

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum four (4) years of demonstrated experience in agricultural or in a combination in supervisory, education and work experience

Education:

  • University Degree in Agriculture or Business/Marketing
