Reporting to the Hoist & Shaft Superintendent, the Hoist & Shaft Supervisor is responsible for safely deploying the operating and maintenance resources to sustainably execute the mine’s short and long term operating plan.

Key Tasks:

  • Ensuring production and maintenance goals are met safety.
  • Deploy resources to ensure process safety goals are met.
  • Providing exemplary safety leadership for hoist & shaft crew.
  • Supervision of the hoist & shaft crew in the field.
  • Play a critical role not only ensuring your own safety, but also the safety of others. You will have direct accountability for ensuring familiarity and demonstrating the Commitment to Zero policy, leading with a safety mindset and modeling the 3 Safety Principles, modelling the 10 Tenets of Operation and having your own personal safety action plan.
  • Work directly with the mine project group to schedule material movement into/out of the mine via the service hoist/shaft.
  • Work with Learning and Development to ensure proper training of operators and maintainers.
  • Work with the hoist planner to prepare a weekly schedule for maintenance activities.

  • You bring a strong commitment towards safety and foster a strong positive safety culture.
  • You have the ability to multitask and proactively manage tasks and commitments.
  • You possess excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills.
  • You are accountable for your areas of operation, including all direct and indirect reports.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Post-secondary education would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulation.
  • Previous Potash work experience would be considered an asset.
  • Previous hoist and Shaft experience would also be considered an asset.
