Reporting to the Hoist & Shaft Superintendent, the Hoist & Shaft Coordinator is responsible supporting the short and long term operational goals for the service and production hoist and shafts.

Key Tasks:

  • Process Safety Management improvements
  • Electrical & Instrumentation Oversight & Planning
  • Management of Change (MOC) for the hoists and shafts
  • Supporting capital projects
  • Leading the development, planning, and field execution of a portfolio of small and medium sized projects
  • Back-up for hoist planner with maintenance & operational route alarm management and work request creation

  • Must have the ability to handle large and varied workloads.


  • Engineering degree or Engineering Technologist diploma with a minimum of 8 years’ experience. Must be a registered or be eligible for registration with the appropriate professional association. Alternatively, candidates with a high degree of applicable experience will be considered.
  • Engineering, maintenance, construction, and/or project management experience at an operating facility or a heavy industrial site is a definite asset.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with the technical and business management disciplines of engineering, as well as procurement and construction activities.
