Reporting to the Supervisor, Clavet/Roma Terminal, the Entry Operator is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant process equipment. This includes performing railcar and truck loading and offloading, startup, shutdown and general operation of pumps, screws, belts, tanks, valves, and other process equipment, conducting regular operational rounds to monitor equipment health, and performing some minor maintenance activities.

Entry Operators are also responsible for maintaining a safe work environment by conducting hazard assessments, utilizing standard operating procedures to perform tasks, identifying and reporting hazards and near miss incidents, and understanding and complying with all company policies and procedures.

Key Tasks:

  • Monitor/operate equipment and associated systems within standard operating conditions and limits
  • Assist with startup, shut down, and operation of processes and equipment from a field role
  • Respond to and appropriately addresses process and equipment upsets
  • Identify possible or current operating problems and recommend action to resolve any deficiencies in rate, quality or mechanical operation
  • Safe handling of dry products, nitric acid and liquid fertilizer while loading rail cars and trucks
  • Maintain a clean work environment free from hazards
  • Play a critical role not only ensuring your own safety, but also the safety of others. You will have direct accountability for ensuring familiarity and demonstrating the Commitment to Zero policy, leading with a safety mindset and modeling the 3 Safety Principles, modelling the 10 Tenets of Operation and having your own personal safety action plan

  • Ability to read, understand and apply operating procedures
  • Able to use computers for job functions and training
  • Ability to excel in a team environment
  • Possess mechanical/process troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Must be committed to working in a highly safety-conscious environment


  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • A degree in Process Engineering Technology from a recognized institution is preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years prior experience in an industrial setting
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of Products
  • Experience with SAP is considered an asset
