Located at our office in South Calgary, and reporting to a Team Lead, Agrium currently has an exciting Co-op opportunity within Corporate Accounting. Providing invaluable work experience in a growing company, this position term will begin in September 2017 for8 months.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Administer daily bank transactions, posting journal entries and working with Accounts Payable and Treasury
  • Assist with the preparation of bank reconciliations and related activities
  • Assisting with financial statement preparation
  • Management of account reconciliations
  • Support on-going initiatives and special projects
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reports
  • Streamlining critical processes and creating process and procedural documentation
  • Accurate completion of quarterly and annual government accounting surveys

Qualifications of the position include:

  • 2nd, 3rd or 4th year student enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce Co-op program or in the Bachelor of Applied Business Administration program
  • Progress toward a degree in business, accounting or finance
  • Two years related work experience is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products with extensive knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail is critical
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and interface with various levels of management in a multi-task, deadline orientated, team environment

Are you eligible?

Co-op students must be working towards a degree or diploma at a post-secondary institution and enrolled in a co-op program, and returning to full-time studies upon completing their work term.
