Accountable to develop, implement, and support sales programs to achieve sales and margin objectives.

Key Tasks:

  • Develops, implements, and manages regional sales strategies, ensuring overall alignment with corporate objectives including outlining expectations for sales, gross margin and pricing.
  • Provides leadership, direction and coaching to Agronomists, Sales Representatives and Branch Managers in the development, implementation and execution of sales plans in order to assist them in meeting performance targets, and ensure alignment with Business Strategy.
  • Responsible for the management of the customer base and the successful implementation of customer programs.
  • Manages local supplier relationships, and negotiates purchase terms with local suppliers.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing and achieving sales targets and margin targets for the division.
  • In conjunction with Divisional and Branch management, assists in the development of sales, operating and capital budgets.
  • Accountable for the provision of real time information regarding saleable inventory, competitive pricing/programs, and reporting of sales vs objectives.
  • Responsible for staying abreast of new technologies, customer needs and regulatory changes within the product line for customers and retails.
  • Develops and implements training programs to retail staff.
  • Manages and participates in Ag Trade Shows in Western Canada.
  • Negotiates and manages contracts for third party contractors. Ensures all required certifications, (WCB, liability insurance certificates, applicable grain storage and auger assembler certifications) are current and compliant.
  • Responsible for maintaining regional accounts in good standing.
  • Responsible for the resolution of customer and product complaints.
  • Provides market intelligence to Product Line Manager, Marketing, Regions, and Division Management Teams.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

The Ideal Candidate

Outside of the skills and necessary qualifications, our ideal candidate must be committed to achieving superior results with integrity and sustaining our safe and positive work environment while having the ability to embrace working side by side others in a diverse culture.

Skills:

  • Five (5) years of demonstrated successful experience in the areas of farm supply sales and marketing.Two (2) years of this experience must have been in a management capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop people.
  • Proficient in utilizing computers for word processing, spreadsheet and database software applications, with a strong emphasis on managing data in MS Excel.

Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Agriculture, commerce or Bachelor of Administration or 10 years of experience selling inputs to Ag producers.
  • Must possess a valid class 5 driver's license.
  • Ability to meet the CPS policy requirement by completing a Criminal background check, Drug/alcohol testing, and Driving Record Abstract.
